Missing It All

I was really looking foreward to the rest once Greens had closed, but now I find myself with the stomach flu and constantly thinking of the cast and crew. This wasn't the rest I'd been hoping for, to be honest. It's pushing back my Christmas shopping time, and now I'll have to rush to get things done. Again. And I'm too sick to bake cookies and make candies. Oy vey, what's Christmas without my trying out 13 new recipes?

At least I have the cast sleepover to look forward to. I hope to see everyone there to fill this growing empty space the closing of Greens has left behind. It was a great run guys, and I'll always treasure the time I spent with everyone ^^

But now, I'm off to bed. I'm going to try to attend school tomorrow if I have enough strength to get up.

Ciao 'til later

All I Want For Christmas

No, not my two front teeth. What I really want is a Shiba Inu puppy. There's a breeder down in Iowa with five adorable little pups available for Christmas. I've fallen in love with one of the boys, and, well, long story short I need to find a way to ask.

I'm responsible enough, that's for sure. Those of you who know me will most likely know that I do quite a bit of housework, including cooking meals several days a week. And if you didn't...well now you do. Living arrangements shouldn't be an issue either. I plan on living at home for college (hence the dog to keep me active). Why not our current dog? Well... She's old, is afraid of the neighborhood dogs, and because of both reasons is not keen on leaving the house unless it involves getting the mail or going to the car.

The males are 700$ and the females are 750$, I'm assuming this because out of the five only two are female.

And, while doing a little more searching I found a breeder 3 hours away, up north in Akeley. The dogs are 850$, but they come with a lifetime health guarantee, up to date shots, a puppy starter kit, etc. Oh- They're micro chipped, too.

Looks like tomorrow before the performance I'll be writing down a list of pros and cons for me getting a dog. And now, my mother wishes to play solitaire, so I'll be going now.

Ciao 'til later.

Edit: I have no clue what just happened to my font, but it seems to like being bold at the moment :/

Shows Fly By

Goodness me! Six shows done already and seven to go.

I must confess, this has been the most fun I've ever had during December. Ever since I entered High School I've suffered from what my friend calls "Lack of Holiday Spirit". And it's quite true. My holiday spirit often arrives the day we get off for Christmas break. Well, this year I suffer from it no more! I find myself humming The Holly and the Ivy in class, much to the annoyance of my classmates, I sing I Saw Three Ships, etc.
Christmas seems to have hit me full force this year, and I'm embracing it with open arms.

Greens is going fantastically. We've had a few minor slip ups, but our fabulous cast covers like it's second nature. It's live theatre, after all. And what's live theatre without someone saving your neck at least once, eh? We've also had the privilege of having dogs downstairs. Harpo and Megan. Megan is the most well behaved dog I have ever seen and Harpo is just so cute I want to hug him forever. Seriously, he looks like a teddy bear. Only he's alive and scampers around with a wiggling tail. These dogs also seem to be glitter magnets. Which, as a note to myself, I must run to the store and pick up more gold glitter. It seems I've run out, and I just feel awkward with just red, green, and white. Somehow the gold just pulls it all together...

But I digress.

Sadly I wasn't cast in The Murder Room. But honestly, I was expecting it. The youngest role was at least four years older than I am now, and I told myself before auditioning that I was going simply for the experience. But, I have been offered a job backstage. I'm thinking lights/sound...or perhaps props? Either way, I plan on somehow being involved! After all, we've gotta support Will. He was cast, and the Greens cast all have comp tickets for opening weekend.

So, to keep myself busy I will be auditioning for South's production of Much Ado About Nothing. I have friends who say I would make the perfect Beatrice, but sadly, White Bear theatre productions are... how can I put this...

They cast the same people over and over again without giving the new budding talents a chance. It's really quite a shame... and that is not just me being snarky because I haven't been cast. No, I'm usually sick around audition time, so I'm unable to go. Whether it be larengitis or a terrible head cold, I have misfortune with winter plays. But alas, I need to audition experience. And thankfully my health has been good this year, to the amazement of my parents. Usually I'm contracting some form of head cold and introducing it to the family, only to get rid of it and catch something else a week later. I'm going to guess it's because I'm sleeping more. I return from Greens and want nothing more than to curl up on the couch with my dog, who is also a glitter magnet, and sleep.

Which is what I should be doing now. I have a busy day tomorrow and will finally be getting two boxes of toric contacts. Which will hopefully allow me to blend in with the others on stage, at least the spirits...
