It's been a few months, hasn't it? Okay, almost a freaking year. I got busy with school, really busy. I graduated in June and spent my first summer without SYP. I really missed it, and what was worse is that I wasn't able to make it to the performances! D:< I'll make up for it this year.
I'm job hunting again. I'm applying at Victoria's Secret and Bath and Body Works, but I'm still looking for more places to apply at. As a college student now I need the money.
College is fun, I'm meeting all kinds of new people, but I miss the people I used to see in high school every day. That sense of familiarity is gone, and I can only talk to some of them over the phone and Facebook.
My grandpa died last March. I don't even know how old he was, and I think he was 79. All I know is that he died of Alzheimer's, and that I lost someone very close to me. I'll be participating in Memory Walk in the near future, so that someday there will be a cure for this awful disease. Nothing hurts more than someone you love not knowing who you are. My grandma's remodeling their house. She wasn't able to do it when grandpa was alive, but now she can. It's turning out really well! I visited that house all the time as a little kid, and it's hard to see the changes, but change is a good thing. The house had been stuck in the 70's for countless years, and it's getting the update it desperately needs. The carpet in the living room no longer eats my toes.
I'm still living at home, since school is only ten minutes away. Eventually I'll move out, most likely to the dorms in Minneapolis, but right now home is a money saver.
I have a bladder infection, and constantly feel like I have to pee. This is so uncomfortable I can't even describe it. I spent most of the day at the Doctor's (where I also scheduled my physical. Yay.) and at Walgreens, waiting for my dang medicine.
I'll have more updates later. Right now I'm tired.

Missing It All
I was really looking foreward to the rest once Greens had closed, but now I find myself with the stomach flu and constantly thinking of the cast and crew. This wasn't the rest I'd been hoping for, to be honest. It's pushing back my Christmas shopping time, and now I'll have to rush to get things done. Again. And I'm too sick to bake cookies and make candies. Oy vey, what's Christmas without my trying out 13 new recipes?
At least I have the cast sleepover to look forward to. I hope to see everyone there to fill this growing empty space the closing of Greens has left behind. It was a great run guys, and I'll always treasure the time I spent with everyone ^^
But now, I'm off to bed. I'm going to try to attend school tomorrow if I have enough strength to get up.

All I Want For Christmas
No, not my two front teeth. What I really want is a Shiba Inu puppy. There's a breeder down in Iowa with five adorable little pups available for Christmas. I've fallen in love with one of the boys, and, well, long story short I need to find a way to ask.
I'm responsible enough, that's for sure. Those of you who know me will most likely know that I do quite a bit of housework, including cooking meals several days a week. And if you didn't...well now you do. Living arrangements shouldn't be an issue either. I plan on living at home for college (hence the dog to keep me active). Why not our current dog? Well... She's old, is afraid of the neighborhood dogs, and because of both reasons is not keen on leaving the house unless it involves getting the mail or going to the car.
The males are 700$ and the females are 750$, I'm assuming this because out of the five only two are female.
And, while doing a little more searching I found a breeder 3 hours away, up north in Akeley. The dogs are 850$, but they come with a lifetime health guarantee, up to date shots, a puppy starter kit, etc. Oh- They're micro chipped, too.
Looks like tomorrow before the performance I'll be writing down a list of pros and cons for me getting a dog. And now, my mother wishes to play solitaire, so I'll be going now.
Ciao 'til later.

Edit: I have no clue what just happened to my font, but it seems to like being bold at the moment :/

Shows Fly By
Goodness me! Six shows done already and seven to go.
I must confess, this has been the most fun I've ever had during December. Ever since I entered High School I've suffered from what my friend calls "Lack of Holiday Spirit". And it's quite true. My holiday spirit often arrives the day we get off for Christmas break. Well, this year I suffer from it no more! I find myself humming The Holly and the Ivy in class, much to the annoyance of my classmates, I sing I Saw Three Ships, etc.
Christmas seems to have hit me full force this year, and I'm embracing it with open arms.
Greens is going fantastically. We've had a few minor slip ups, but our fabulous cast covers like it's second nature. It's live theatre, after all. And what's live theatre without someone saving your neck at least once, eh? We've also had the privilege of having dogs downstairs. Harpo and Megan. Megan is the most well behaved dog I have ever seen and Harpo is just so cute I want to hug him forever. Seriously, he looks like a teddy bear. Only he's alive and scampers around with a wiggling tail. These dogs also seem to be glitter magnets. Which, as a note to myself, I must run to the store and pick up more gold glitter. It seems I've run out, and I just feel awkward with just red, green, and white. Somehow the gold just pulls it all together...
But I digress.
Sadly I wasn't cast in The Murder Room. But honestly, I was expecting it. The youngest role was at least four years older than I am now, and I told myself before auditioning that I was going simply for the experience. But, I have been offered a job backstage. I'm thinking lights/sound...or perhaps props? Either way, I plan on somehow being involved! After all, we've gotta support Will. He was cast, and the Greens cast all have comp tickets for opening weekend.
So, to keep myself busy I will be auditioning for South's production of Much Ado About Nothing. I have friends who say I would make the perfect Beatrice, but sadly, White Bear theatre productions are... how can I put this...
They cast the same people over and over again without giving the new budding talents a chance. It's really quite a shame... and that is not just me being snarky because I haven't been cast. No, I'm usually sick around audition time, so I'm unable to go. Whether it be larengitis or a terrible head cold, I have misfortune with winter plays. But alas, I need to audition experience. And thankfully my health has been good this year, to the amazement of my parents. Usually I'm contracting some form of head cold and introducing it to the family, only to get rid of it and catch something else a week later. I'm going to guess it's because I'm sleeping more. I return from Greens and want nothing more than to curl up on the couch with my dog, who is also a glitter magnet, and sleep.
Which is what I should be doing now. I have a busy day tomorrow and will finally be getting two boxes of toric contacts. Which will hopefully allow me to blend in with the others on stage, at least the spirits...

Lights, Action- Costumes?
So tonight was our first tech run with lights. A few glitches here and there, but they were tweaking as we got notes, so by tomorrow everything should be fine and dandy.
Girls got to wear their costumes tonight, because we need to learn how to sit and kneels in dresses. Kate and I look awesome, as does Jan. Seriously, the Spirit Buddies and the witch get these awesome costumes. Kate's is blue, mine's a warm honey brown, and Jan's is a cream color. Made from the same fabric, it's kind of....velvety? Is that the word I'm looking for? Long story short, the fabric is soft and pretty, need I say more?
And to add to the fun, spirits get to play with our makeup. Glitter, fun colors, etc. Kate had hers on today, and I couldn't talk to her without staring at the silver glitter on her forehead.
Well, I'm off to bed. Gotta be well rested for school tomorrow... and for shopping for makeup after!

Like A Fortune Cookie Fortune
That's exactly what rehearsal is for me. A fortune cookie fortune. No matter how crazy the fortune, how silly, or how random, that's what it is. The majority of my day is like the cookie itself. Mundane, bland (rather like cheap vanilla flavoring), and predictable. I spend all day chewing through the cookie, making sure not to peek at my fortune (an old superstition of mine. Eat the cookie first to ensure the fortune will come true). Then I finally head to rehearsal, my long awaited fortune. So, what brought on this metaphor? I was talking to Andrew when I showed him the fortune in my pocket. And well, it spawned a little metaphor in the back of my head.
So, tonight's fortune was, as always, so much fun. Jan's continuing to learn her lines (you're doing a great job, Jan!), and continuing to give Pinella life. FYI, I hope the serpent staff gets used. Dress it up with silver garland, or something, because it looks too fabulous to pass up! speaking of lines, Kate, my spirit buddy, I told you you could get that one line. t-o-l-d you. Don't sweat it :3
The scenes in the home are coming along fantastically well. They're my favorite scenes in the entire play! They're acting so much like a family... it makes me a little sad that I was cast as a spirit. As much as I am a friend to them, I'll never truly be a part of their little family, just as they won't even truly be a part of the Pinella/Spirit family. The positive? I get to watch the families interact! Let me tell you, by the time we get lights and costumes everything is going to be fabulous. I'm lovin' how the story looks now, and with lights/costumes, to diiiie for!
Claudia forgot the CD tonight, so all sounds had to be voiced. Laurie, who has been reading all the voices of the missing actors, is a stitch. Tonight she was singing the songs that needed to be sung, fetching props, giving lines... You go Laurie!
Oh... did I mention that we have space now? Well....WE DO! 8D omgomgomgomg SPACE! My capture scene no longer takes place smushed up against the cabin! WE HAVE ROOM! Is it obvious that I'm excited? I'd happy dance, but I'd spill my cocoa. Good-bye orchestra pit, Hello acting room!
I'm afraid my muse has cooled, just like how my hot cocoa. So, I look forward to writing more about rehearsals tomorrow, and shall resign myself to awaiting Kate's entry before heading to bed.

I Need A Life :|
So, my friends and I just got back from seeing Twilight. I'm on a sugar high and really can't sleep. I'm twitchy, wide awake, and wanting to do something. So, here I am. 12:57 AM. Typing. On my blog.
I need a life :|
Twilight was a pretty good movie. The male actors were attractive and the actress who portrayed Alice was adorable. The books? The series was in general so-so. The plot is okay, but I feel as if more could have been done character development wise. Will it ever top Harry Potter? I think not. I've read the books once, but would I read them again? No. Harry Potter I can sit and read over and over while still catching things I missed the first time around.
I give Twilight a C-, but that's just my humble opinion. I'm not the authority on this kind of thing.
But the movie had great music. And I mean great. I'm going to get the soundtrack sometime this week.
Oh, yeah, I'm going to try and get an iPod. 'Cos you know, I need one. I've got so many songs I love, but...nothing but CD's to put them on. Wish me luck in trying to get my parents to get me one for christmas.
Speaking of which, I'm forming my wish list here. Just so I won't forget. I'm the type of person who forgets...
-iPod
-Laptop (this will most likely be for my birthday if I get one)
-KH II
- An assortment of video games I need a to look up
-Linkin Park CD's
-Copic Markers
-Art supplies (paper, a new inking pen, etc)
For those of you curious about my photo... his name is Var. I doodle him a lot. So, until I find a decent picture of myself (Kate, you may need to take one of me), you're all stuck looking at him.
Well, right now I'm going to surf the web and look for those games I'd like.
